The King of Staten Island proves himself to be a class act. Pete Davidson supported writers on strike in New York with pizza. TMZ reports that Davidson pulled up to a strike in Greenpoint, New York, with boxes of pizza from Spumoni Gardens. When asked why he came out, Davidson responded, “Gotta support the writers, man. No writers, no shows without writers.” The strike led to Davidson’s return to Saturday Night Live as a guest host being canceled. He’s also mourning his dog Henry who died on Thursday, the same day Davidson’s new show Bupkis premiered on Peacock. But regardless of all the trouble he’s had this week, Davidson still took the time to support New York writers during their strike.

Pete Davidson and Others Show Support for Writers on Strike
Pete Davidson isn’t the only one showing his support for the writers’ strike. The TMZ article also reports that guild members striking on the West Coast got a surprise visit from a waffle food truck that gave everyone on strike free waffles. The truck was courtesy of late-night hosts Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers, and John Oliver. And according to the Washington Examiner, Jay Leno was handing out donuts to the strikers outside Walt Disney Studios on the first day of the strike.
Politico reports that several politicians are also showing their support for the strikers across the country. Such politicians include Rep. Adam Schiff, Rep. Katie Porter, Sen. Bernie Sanders, and Rep. Ro Khana.
The writers’ strike is continuing to affect numerous entertainment events. Drew Barrymore has stepped down from hosting the MTV Movie & TV Awards to support the strike, and the show will now be broadcast without a live audience.
Regardless of how many of these people’s careers are impacted by the writers’ strike, they stand up to support the writers they depend on. And with all he’s dealing with (i.e., the loss of his dog and his SNL return being canceled), Pete Davidson deserves props for going out to support New York Writers Guild members on strike.
