Buzz Lightyear Mission Log: the official trailer for Pixar’s upcoming space adventure is finally here. Arriving on June 17, 2022, Lightyear will take us to strange planets across the stars. The trailer is packed with action, humor, and intrigue, with many small moments that are hard to miss but worthy of a pause.
Lightyear Shoots for the Stars
The new trailer, which you can view right here, introduces Buzz and a few of his companions with spoken lines. He’s been tasked with training for one mission that will only last four minutes. But as brief as the mission may seem, it only propels his story into becoming a space ranger.
As his mission intensifies and becomes more imperative, Buzz Lightyear must now arm himself with a spacesuit and a friendly robot cat named Sox. Through snippets of soft moments and action-packed encounters, we see Buzz Lightyear handle his business with the remix of “Starman” by David Bowie playing in the background. It’s the same song that Pixar used in their initial teaser trailer for Lightyear, where only a few lines of dialogue were spoken. Now, we get to see these characters in action. You may also want to keep a sharp eye out for Emperor Zurg, whose towering figure is enough to send shivers down your spine.
The trailer concludes with a funny scene between Buzz and his robot cat before the screen soars into the movie’s logo and release window.
Lightyear is set to be released in theaters on June 17, 2022. The film will additionally star Keke Palmer, Dale Soules, Taika Waititi, Uzo Aduba, James Brolin, Efren Ramirez, and Peter Sohn as Sox.
