Returnal’s breakout PS5 success only continues to grow into bigger and better things for Sony. While Housemarque may have announced their future lies in a different direction, Returnal is still receiving some attention. While notably, the title received an update last year to implement and save feature, the quality of life doesn’t end there. Housemarque also squeezed in a photo mode to make those moments extra special. Even more interesting, this new patch will add more content than the October 2.0 patch. The upcoming 3.0 Returnal Ascension patch revealed at PlayStation’s State of play will implement co-op, and new gameplay features this March.
What Else Does the Returnal Ascension Co-Op Patch Add?
The new update titled Ascension will introduce new features players will enjoy. Notably is the addition of co-op in Returnal Ascension, which lets another user drop into the experience with you if they have PlayStation Plus. While the logistics of how it will function have yet to be revealed, players can expect exciting moments. Yet, the addition does also raise some questions about balance. Whether or not the title will adapt to the extra player’s firepower has yet to be seen. But if multiplayer isn’t the thing that brings players back to a game, there’s also the Tower of Sisyphus. Providing that extra challenge that some players are indeed looking for, the Returnal updates just keep getting better. While Housemarque is undoubtedly keen to keep its latest title updated, going the extra mile and adding more content is also exceptional. The update for Returnal launches this month on March 22nd. The Returnal Ascension update with challenges and co-op is above and beyond developer support. Especially for one of the PlayStation 5’s launch window titles. There might even be more coming for Returnal in the future, be sure to check back for more news on the latest.
