TV Tokyo announced Saturday morning that the Pokemon anime is getting a one-hour special to celebrate the anime’s 25th anniversary. The special will feature the sibling characters from Pokemon XY and Pokemon XY &Z: Bonnie (Eureka) and Clemont (Citron).
The first part of the Pokemon special will also feature two parts: “Satoshi (Ash) and Citron! Friendship Super Special Training“. The second part will be called “Ultra Class! VS Kalos Elite Four Drasna”. The original Japanese actors (Yuki Kaji and Mariya Ise) will reprise their roles as the respective siblings. In regards to the announcement, Kaji went on to say,
I heard rumors that characters from other series are appearing one after another, so I was hoping that it would one day be Citron! The dream came true and I was really happy. I think that the three years I spent at the dubbing site of the TV anime, Pokemon is an indispensable masterpiece.
In the two stories, Ash visits Bonnie and Clemont because the next Pokemon World Coronation Series takes place in the Kalos region. The three of them undergo special training so they can battle Drasna. Both episodes will be an hour long.
The Pokemon Anniversary Special: A Long List of Plans
Regarding the Pokemon anime series, the franchise has seen a steady flow of content. Pokemon Master Journeys” The Series premiered in Tokyo and its affiliates. For the series, the first twelve episodes debited in June 2020. As the episodes air, Netflix also adds new episodes quarterly. The series is now available to watch on Netflix in the original Japanese audio and English dub.
For the Pokemon franchise altogether, the company announced a new game release. Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet on Pokemon day in February, along with an update to Legends of Arceus. Both versions of the game will be available on Nintendo Switch later this year. Other updates for the two games are consistently being updated on the game’s official website.
The Pokemon 25th-anniversary anime special will air on April 1st on TV Tokyo and its affiliates. It is unknown when and if there will be an international release at the moment.
