With the recent release of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, players are getting a chance to jump back into the region of Sinnoh and once again try to “catch ’em all.” While on the journey of capturing the titular creatures, you might find yourself wanting to ask a friend to trade some Pokémon to help fill out a team or PokéDex. Luckily the game allows you to do just that and this guide can show you how. This guide will show you how to trade with friends in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
How to Trade with Friends in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
Once you beat either game’s first gym leader, Roark, you will unlock the ability to trade with friends. To do so, you are going to want to head to a Pokémon Center to start the trade with your friends. Depending on whether they are nearby or far away will decide which staircase you go down when entering the center. If you are close by to your friend, you can go to the left and go to the Local Room. If you want to connect with someone far away, you are going to want to go to the right. Whichever way you end up going, talk to the center woman behind the counter to go to open a menu that gives you a series of options. If you want to join a group with specific friends to trade Pokémon with, select “Yes, with a Link Code,” but to join a group you’ve previously created, select “Yes, with my group.”
