Aipom is a Normal-Type Long Tail Pokémon in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl that evolves into Ambipom once a specific condition is met. Trainers can catch Aipom in various locations across the Sinnoh Region via Honey Trees. Such areas include Valley Windworks, Fuego Ironworks, Floaroma Meadow, Eterna Forest, and Routes 205 – 215. Attracting an Aipom with Honey Trees can be quite arduous, as the likelihood that one will appear is 5-20% after the tree’s 6-hour spawn. As a result, a much more reliable technique of finding Aipom would be to use the Walking method within the Spacious Cave of the Grand Underground.
How to Evolve Aipom in Pokémon BDSP
Once players have caught Aipom, they can evolve it into Ambipom by having the Pokémon learn Double Hit in Pokémon BDSP. Aipom automatically learns Double Hit once it reaches Level 32. However, if Aipom was captured within the Grand Underground, it might already be past Level 32. In this case, players must teach it Double Hit through other means.

To have Aipom learn Double Hit after it has reached a level higher than 32, Trainers will need to take the Long Tail Pokémon to a Move Tutor in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl. Players can find such a tutor within the house northeast of the PokéMart in Pastoria City.
Yet, there are two prerequisites Trainers much complete to have the Move Tutor teach Double Hit to Aipom to evolve in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl. First, players will need to have beaten Maylene, the third gym leader and Fighting-type specialist in Veilstone City. Second, Trainers must also have a Heart Scale before speaking to the tutor. Once Aipom learns Double Hit, the next time it levels up, the Pokémon will evolve into Ambipom in Pokémon BDSP.
