Mr. Mime was originally included in Generation I of Pokémon, and the games Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl hold a special place for the jester as the original games were the first to introduce its pre-evolution, Mime Jr. For trainers on the hunt for Mr. Mime, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, and Shining Pearl allow players to either find him in the wild or evolve Mime Jr. It’s also worth noting that while before Generation VI Mr. Mime was a pure psychic type, he is now Psychic/Fairy, including in Diamond and Pearl.
Finding and Evolving Mime Jr. in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
Players can find Mime Jr. fairly early on in the game. The Pokémon can be caught on Route 9, near Hearthome City and on Route 10, North of Solaceon Town. It is best to try and locate Mime Jr. in the morning as he has a 25% chance of appearing at that time while that number drops to 5% during the afternoon and night. Mime Jr. can be caught at around levels 16-20 in these areas. If a quick ball is unsuccessful, inflicting status ailments such as poisoning should do the trick.
Evolving Mime Jr. requires the Pokémon to learn the move Mimic which happens at level 32. For players who have accidentally forgotten the move, giving a Heart Scale to the Move Tutor in Pastoria City will allow Mime Jr. to relearn it.
Finding Mr. Mime
Trainers not interested in evolving or catching Mime Jr can go straight for hunting Mr. Mime instead. Mr. Mime can be found on Route 218 where the Pokémon will be between levels 29-30 and Route 222 where he will be somewhere between levels 41-42.

For trainers who want to make Mr. Mime part of their select six, it’s a good idea to have the Pokémon learn the move Dazzling at level 44. It is the only Fairy-type move Mr. Mime can learn that will inflict some real damage, great when going against Dragon-types.
