The National Dex in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl is the upgraded National Mode of the Pokédex, allowing trainers to hunt for all of the 400+ available Pokémon in the game. The Sinnoh Dex only lists 151 Pokémon and does not include all of the new discoverable Pokémon. The National Mode upgrade is part of the Pokémon BDSP‘s post-game content, meaning players will not be able to access it until after they have completed the primary objectives of the main story. How to Get the National Dex in Pokémon BDSP
To unlock the National Dex in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl, players must collect all eight of the Gym Badges, defeat the Elite Four, and become the League Champion. The Sinnoh Dex must also be completed. Once these requirements have been fulfilled, trainers can return to Sandgem Town and speak with Rowan to receive the National Dex from Professor Oak.

Pokémon BDSP trainers will be able to see the majority of the Pokémon as they complete the main story and interact with NPCs. However, the one exception is the legendary Pokémon — Dialga or Palkia — which will be different depending on the version of the game. To see the other opposite version of the Legendary, go to Celestic Town after defeating the Elite Four. Head up to the home in the top-center of the map and speak with the elderly woman. She will show the player a photo of the opposite Legendary, which will count in the Pokédex.
Once the Sinnoh Dex is complete, travel to Sandgem Town and receive the National Dex and Poke Radar from Professor Oak in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl. After getting the National Dex, players can obtain a host of new Pokémon, such as Eevee in Pokémon BDSP.
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl are available on Nintendo Switch.
