When the original Pokémon Diamond and Pearl debuted in 2006, no one could have predicted how beloved Lucario would become. It has become one of the Pokémon universe’s most popular creations, appearing in Smash, and even has a life-size plush version of itself. It’s no wonder that fans are always excited to see them, and with the release of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, his debut games are getting revisited. Now that players are once again getting a chance to jump back into the region of Sinnoh and attempting to “catch ’em all,” Some players are going to want to get Lucario in their team. Once you do get your hands on them, that is only half the battle with the other half being… well, the battles themselves. When you get into a Pokémon battle, it is important to know the weaknesses of your Pokémon, and it is no different with Lucario. I can clear up how these stats work and which ones you need to pay attention to. This guide will break down all of Lucario’s Weaknesses in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
Lucario’s Weaknesses in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
Lucario is a Steel and Fighting-type Pokémon, thus making it weak to three different types. Those types are Ground, Fighting, and Fire. Luckily, no weakness does four times the damage to Lucario. These weaknesses come out to do two times the regular damage against Lucario.

While it is good to know Lucario’s weaknesses to ensure he avoids those situations, it is just as important to also find Lucario’s strengths. One of those strengths is that Lucario is immune to Poison Attacks. The Aura Pokémon is also strong against its own type of Steel as well as Normal, Dark, Ice, Dragon, Normal, Bug, and Rock types. The first six types listed in that list will do half damage against Lucario, with Rock and Bug-type attacks doing even less damage at one-fourth of the regular output. This makes it very important that you know to use it against these types of Pokémon so that you know how to use Lucario’s strengths and avoid his weaknesses.
Both Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl are available now on the Nintendo Switch.
