Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are coming up on their second week since release. If you’re anything like me, you’re working on building that perfect team. Some of them may be a winning strategy against a gym leader. Others might be to experience some of those iconic Sinnoh Pokemon in action. Both of these are true for Drifloon, the Ghost/Flying-type from Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Its unique typing gives it a lot of move versatility and coverage options. Overall, Drifloon and its evolution Drifblim are tough contenders for any Pokemon team. The only problem? It’s a very hard catch. Stick with me through this guide and you’ll be mowing people down soon.
Where to Find Drifloon in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
The gimmick to getting your own Drifloon, though simple, can be anything but if you don’t happen to be lucky. To start, you’ll have to have progressed through the story enough to reach Floaroma Town. There, Team Galactic will be up to no good once again. They’re causing trouble at the Valley Windworks to the east of town. Take yourself and your Pokemon team there and clear them out. Afterward, a kid whose dad works there will mention that the Drifloon might come back soon!
Ah, but here’s where it gets tricky. Drifloon only appears on Friday at this specific location. If you’ve already taken down Team Galactic and it’s the winning day, it’ll be right outside the Windworks. Capture it, and you’ll have its evolved form in no time! Something to note for the impatient or forgetful, there is a way to get around the cumbersome once-a-week appearance. By going into your Nintendo Switch’s system settings and manually jumping the date ahead to the next Friday, it’ll trigger to the same instance.
