With the recent release of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, players are getting a chance to jump back into the region of Sinnoh and once again try to “catch ’em all.” While on the journey of capturing the titular creatures, you might find yourself wanting to track down Larvitar for a few different reasons. Not only is the Pokémon rare, but it also has great stats that any player would love to add to their roster. Luckily, I can help you on your quest of hunting down the highly sought-after creature. This guide will show you where to find Larvitar in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond.
Where to Find Larvitar in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond
As you might have noticed, I wasn’t saying where to find Larvitar in Shining Pearl, that is because Larvitar is an exclusive Pokémon to just Pokémon Brilliant Diamond. Sorry to all those who got Shining Pearl, if it’s any consolation, Murkrow is pretty cool, so you get to have them. Now that that is out of the way, we can start to discuss where to find Larvitar, which starts at the end of the game. You will need to complete the main story of the game, becoming the Champion of the Sinnoh region. With this done, you will need to encounter each Pokémon present in the Sinnoh PokéDex so that you can unlock the National PokéDex. This will give you the ability to visit Ramanas Park to the southeast of Sandgem Town and talk to Professor Oak. Doing so will allow you to obtain the Poké Radar.

Once you get yourself that Radar, you are going to want to head over to Oreburgh City and head north onto Route 207. With the Poké Radar, you should start walking through the tall grass in the area. There is a 12% chance of the Larvitar spawning, so keep walking through the grass until you find the rare Pokémon.
Both Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl are available now on the Nintendo Switch.
