Defog is a Hidden Move in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl that allows players to remove the fog surrounding some areas of the map. Once trainers arrive at Route 210 during the main story, they will encounter a thick mist covering the path through the woods. While it is possible to blindly meander one’s way through the haze, Defog is a much more practical solution, granting players vision in the area to continue their progress. How to Get Defog in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl
To get Defog in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pear, players must speak an NPC within the Great Marsh. The character will tell the player that their Pokémon can’t use the TMs that they are carrying. Once the dialogue sequence has ended, the player will receive the Defog Hidden Move.

Also known as the Safari Zone. The Great Marsh is home to all types of unique Pokémon, including ones that are exclusive to the zone. To enter the Safari Zone, players can travel to Pastoria City and pass through the Great Marsh Gate. Keep in mind that the entrance fee is 500 Pokémon Dollars. Once inside the location, go immediately to the right and speak with the green-haired NPC. They will give the player TM97s, which unlock the Defog Hidden Move in Pokémon BDSP.
To use Defog in Pokémon BDSP, press R to enlarge the side window and select the Hidden Moves tab. Players can activate this move whenever they are in a foggy area like the Safari Zone or Route 210.
