Since the game’s release in 2016, Pokemon GOÂ has seen a lot of changes. While the world was struggling and shutting things down, Niantic was opening new doors in Pokemon GO. These new doors allowed players to stay connected while still providing a challenge. During the early stages of the pandemic, players were able to battle in raids remotely and invite their friends to join. Trainers could raid remotely using raid passes. They could also obtain Remote Raid Passes for either 1 for 100 or 3 for 250 Pokecoins. During the Hoenn Celebration, trainers will have the opportunity to battle against Kyogre, Groudon, and now Mega Ampharos.
Mega Ampharos loves to have its hair blow in the breeze while shining its light out to lost travelers. Starting on January 19, 2021, Pokemon trainers can now battle Mega Ampharos in raids around the world. Below we will be breaking down what you should expect when taking on Mega Ampharos.

Best Line Up & Moves
Going into the Mega Ampharos raid you may need to power up some of your Pokemon. Dragon-type moves and Pokemon are highly suggested. The best counter moves are Dragon Tail, Outrage, Dragon Claw, and Draco Meteor. For those moves to be most effective, a party of Rayquazza, Salamance, Haxorus, Garchomp, Zekrom, and Palkia can be used. If you do not have all of these Pokemon, you can substitute in Dragonite, Shadow Mewtwo, Shadow Gardevoir, Weavile, and Mega Charizard X.
Once the raid is complete, you will be rewarded with a mixture of Potions, Revives, Rare Candys, and TMs. The base catch CP range is between 1554 and 1630. The weather boosted CP range is between 1943 and 2037. A shiny Ampharos is potentially available to lucky trainers.
