The Pokemon Go Lunar New Year Event is now underway. In celebration of the Chinese New Year, Niantic has prepared a special celebration for the event. Trainers around the world will have the opportunity to celebrate the year of the OX. During the event, you will be able to battle Latios and Latias. In addition to Latias and Latios returning, Niantic has now released Mega Gyarados to raids. Pokemon Go Trainers can earn Mega Gyarados energy two different ways during the event. The first and more traditional way is to battle in the Pokemon Go Mega Gyarados raid. The second and probably easier way is by completing the special Lunar New Year’s event research task.
Similar to most Mega raids, the Mega Gyarados raid can be defeated by 2 to 5 players. High-level trainers will have an easier time defeating this raid; however, we recommend going in with at least three players. Below you can check out all the information you will need to take down the Pokemon Go Mega Gyarados Raid. Will you be able to take down the Water Dragon?
