Dragonite is a Dragon and Flying-type Pokemon that dates back all the way to the first generation of the powerhouse franchise. Players that come across the dual-type Pokemon in their time playing Pokemon GO will want to know not only the weaknesses that it has but also what it is resistant to in order to both battle with and against Dragonite in the most optimal manner possible. What Are Dragonite’s Weaknesses In Pokemon GO?

Since Dragonite is a dual-type Pokemon, bing both a Dragon and Flying-type Pokémon, it is weak to a few different types, with the total number of weaknesses coming out to four. Those types are Rock, Fairy, Dragon, and Ice. The first three attack types in the list will do 2x their regular damage, but it is slightly different when it comes to Ice attacks. Since both Flying and Dragon-type Pokemon are weak to Ice, these types of attacks will do 4x the regular damage to Dragonite.  This makes going against Ice-type Pokemon a dangerous situation for Dragonite, so use that to your advantage when facing off against one but also know when to get your Dragonite’s out of the battle if you come across this match-up.

While it is good to know Dragonite’s weaknesses to avoid those situations, it is also essential to find Dragonite’s resistances. Dragonite is usually immune to Ground-type attacks in other Pokemon titles, and while this carries over to Pokemon GO, immunity works slightly different. This resistance type doesn’t entirely nullify the damage. Instead, Pokemon will have a super resistance to these moves, dealing very little damage but damage nonetheless. In addition to this immunity, Dragonite also has several resistances, a total of five to be exact. These types are Bug, Fighting, Fire, Water, and Grass-type attacks. These types of attacks will do half damage against Dragonite.
