Slaking is a Pokemon that was first introduced in Generation III of Pokemon and is the final evolution of the Slakoth line, evolving from Vigoroth. The lazy, ape-like Pokemon from the Hoenn region has massive defensive stats and great stamina, so it is a Pokemon that players will want to know how to deal with if they come across it in the wild or in a raid in Pokemon GO. They will also want to know how to get the most out of it if they decide to capture it and add it to their party as they journey around the real world, catching these pocket monsters. This guide will let players know what Slaking’s weakness is in Pokemon GO.
What Is Slaking’s Weakness In Pokemon GO?
Slaking is a normal type and carries over his weakness from other entries in the Pokemon series, which is the Fighting type. Since Slaking is solely a normal type, this is his only weakness. This sounds great as only one type can give you trouble, but being a normal type also means he isn’t resistant to most other types except for one. Pokemon that act as great counters to Slaking are powerful Fighting-types such as Machamp.

While I said that Slaking carried over his Fighting-type weakness from other games, the resistance for Slaking is slightly different compared to other titles. As a Normal-type, Slaking has previously been shown to be immune to Ghost types. While Pokemon GO technically has immunity, this resistance type doesn’t entirely nullify the damage. Instead, Pokemon will have a super resistance to these moves, dealing very little damage but damage nonetheless. With all that being said, Slaking’s only resistance in Pokemon GO is his immunity to Ghost types.
Pokemon Go is available on iOS and Android.
