The Pokémon Company has created a way to help players start off their shiny hunting in Pokémon Legends: Arceus with a bang by creating an opportunity to catch a shiny Ponyta easily. While many gamers might not have the stamina or patience it takes to hunt for shiny Pokémon, it’s always exciting to randomly encounter the different colored creatures. The newest Pokemon game revives the franchise’s tradition of gifting players with a shiny Pokémon, this time with a mission for a beautifully unique Ponyta.
Catch a Shiny Ponyta in Pokémon Legends: Arceus
Progressing through the story in Pokémon Legends: Arecus will unlock an ability that allows players to accept requests from the locals of Jubilife Village, along with those throughout the Hisui region. This ability is accessible fairly early on in the game. Along with seeing request icons on the map from villagers standing in different locations around the village, players can also check a request board located inside Galaxy Hall. The board can be found on the ground floor of the building, the second door to the left upon entering.
A request from Yota will appear on the board in Galaxy Hall after the first few hours of in-game time. After accepting the request to investigate a “peculiar” Ponyta in the Obsidian Fieldlands, go talk to Yota to learn more about the mission. He is located on a bridge south of the Training Grounds of Jubilife Village. Once players have spoken to Yota, it is time to venture to Obsidian Fieldlands, more specifically the Horseshoe Plains.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus – How To Catch Arceus
A quick walk around the area should trigger the blue-maned shiny Ponyta to appear. From there, it’s relatively easy to catch the peculiar Ponyta. Players simply need to throw a Pokéball, any type will do, at the Pokémon, and it will happily be caught. Once this is done, return to Jubilife Village and speak to Yota. Don’t worry; he doesn’t try to take the shiny Ponyta away. From the mission, players will walk away with a Shiny Ponyta and five Razz Berries, an exciting way to start Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
