Pokemon Legends: Arceus takes place in the Hisui region, which in the distant future would become the Sinnoh region featured in Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum and their remakes, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. With that in mind, it’s not surprising that many Legendary Pokemon that are tied to Sinnoh/Hisui’s legends returned in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. One of them is the Gratitude Pokemon Shaymin. Here’s how you can find and catch Shaymin and its Sky Forme transformation in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.
How to Find Shaymin in Pokemon Legends: Arceus
If you have a save data for Pokemon Sword or Shield on your Nintendo Switch, then you will be able to locate the Grass-Type Legendary Pokemon Shaymin and its Sky Forme transformation. Along with the Gratitude Pokemon, Pokemon Sword or Shield save file will also give you a free Shaymin Kimono Set that you can easily redeem by accessing the mirror to customize your character.
Nevertheless, Shaymin is presently unavailable in Pokemon Legends: Arceus outside of having a Pokemon Sword or Shield data. Players may be able to obtain Shaymin through other means in future events, but Nintendo and GameFreak haven’t announced any information about such events yet.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus: Unlocking “A Token of Gratitude” Shaymin Catch Request
- After you complete the main story questline, go back to the Galaxy Hall in Jubilife Village.
- Once there, head to Professor Laventon’s room and check the Requests tab on the blackboard. You should be able to see a brand new request, “Request 92: A Token of Gratitude.” Take it.
- Now head over to Fieldlands Camp in Obsidian Fieldlands and speak with Medi. She will give you a Gracidea Flower item and task you to find a field of Gracidea flowers somewhere in the area.
- Go to the Floaro Garden located in the northwestern part of the map. You will find a barren flower field.
- Medi will show up and call out the Shaymin who revived all the flowers there. Once Medi is gone, just walk to the middle of the field and battle the Shaymin to capture it in the name of research. The Request asks you to catch the Legendary Pokemon anyway, so don’t worry about that.
Like in other Pokemon games, in Pokemon Legends: Arceus Shaymin can transform into its Sky Forme using a Key Item called Gracidea Flower — the one you get from Medi — changing it into a Grass/Flying-Type Pokemon and getting an additional Speed boost. Click on the Gracidea Flower from the Key Items tab and use it on the Shaymin to transform it into Sky Forme Shaymin. Use Gracidea Flower on it again to revert it to the default Land Forme.
