Pokemon Legends: Arceus has been huge in the gaming community since it was announced in February. The game is a breath of fresh air for fans, as even basic mechanics are different. Another thing that has drawn potential players in is the setting. It features the Hisui region, an early version of Sinnoh set in feudal times. With it comes a lot of regional variants of past Pokemon. The most recent ones to take the stage came with a duo of cryptic videos recently. Pokemon Legends: Arceus brings back everyone’s favorite dark tricksters, Zorua and Zoroark!
More Regional Variants Than You Can Fit in a Party
Regional variants, for those who haven’t played the last couple generations of Pokemon, are fairly popular. Due to the different regions, a Pokemon who migrated there now looks or acts differently. This can affect appearance and also type. The concept made a huge splash with Alolan Raichu back in Pokemon Sun and Moon. Regional Variants have stuck around since, with no signs of slowing.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus is set to have one of the biggest regional variants casts yet. So far, every new Pokemon revealed has been a Hisuian variant of another. There are seven regional variants at this point in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, including the newbies. Potentially more based on pre-evolved or evolved forms! They all share mystic forms, similar to Japanese folklore in this period. Zorua and Zoroark have certainly made an impression on Pokemon Legends: Arceus, and are sure to be fan favorites once again.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus Will Be a Legendary Experience
Fans believe that Pokemon Legends: Arceus is redefining the series. The encounter system is entirely revamped. Battling is optional to catch a Pokemon now, and much more real-time. Players won’t be bored with such a large region to see. Unfortunately, it’s been confirmed that it won’t be an open world. Even so, there’s much to see and do!
Pokemon Legends: Arceus will release on Nintendo Switch on January 28, 2022. What are your thoughts on the next big step in Pokemon? Leave a comment below!
