Pokemon Scarlet and Violet promise a two-part DLC expansion, both of which focus on Area Zero, an isolated and mysterious area entirely cut off from the main Paldea region. While Paldea is clearly Spanish-inspired, the DLC seems to hope toward another direction, one that is relatively unknown for now. Ever since we’ve traveled to lands like Galar, fans have been hoping for a cross-regional form of DLC, one that takes us back to a place we’ve been before in marvelous 3D. For many, that hope is Kalos. Even in Pokemon Sword and Shield, plenty of fans were hoping that the DLC was Kalos. However, as you know, that wasn’t the case. It looks like this time, for Kalos enthusiasts at least, we might be striking out again with the DLC.
Why Do Fans Want Out of Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet DLC?
Because the DLC is so unknown, this leaves enough room for theorizers to gather their thoughts and consider what might be. Players who choose to theorize about what the next DLC may contain have some room to believe Kalos is on the horizon because of the real-life locations of Spain and France. Because they are relatively close to one another, it isn’t a leap to say that if GameFreak wanted to do some kind of jump from Paldea to Kalos, now would be the time.
The idea of going to Kalos during some spare DLC is so pervasive because we did so back during Gen 2. Exploring two separate regions in one title has been a fanbase favorite, something we haven’t seen since the Nintendo DS days. There are many that haven’t given up on the idea, hoping that GameFreak will bring along some truly stunning DLC to wrap up a shakey main title. There are plenty of narrative hints within the base game that make it at least a bright hope.
