Pokemon UNITE: How to Get Free Costumes and Licenses

Pokemon UNITE, the official MOBA spin-off of the ever-popular monster-catching game from Timi Studio, is currently celebrating its first anniversary ever since its Nintendo Switch debut. Like any other mobile and/or online game, there are a number of time-limited events and rewards you can obtain during the Pokemon UNITE 1st Anniversary Event, including free Holowear Costumes and Licenses for five different Pokemon.

Free Licenses & Holowear Costumes in Pokemon UNITE 1st Anniversary Event

Getting the free Licenses (unlocking a Pokemon) and Holowear Costumes during the Pokemon UNITE 1st Anniversary Event is easy. All you need to do is to log in for five days between:

From Thursday, July 21, 2022, at 12:00 PM PT / 08:00 AM BST
To Thursday, October 13, 2022, at 4:59 PM PT / 00:59 AM BST

And you’ll receive both the Pokemon License as well as the Holowear Costume listed below. Any five days during the course of the Anniversary Event will do; you don’t even have to log in for five days in a row. If you already own the free Holowear, you’ll be rewarded with 100 Aeos instead.

Along with the freebies, don’t forget that there are two in-game events that you can participate in!

Boss Rush

In this PvE-focused mode, you team up with other players to take on powered-up Pokemon bosses that spawn one after the other. The team with the higher score in the Boss Rush rankings will receive better rewards. The periods for the event are as follows:

July 21 at 12:00 PM PT to July 24 at 04:59 PM PT
July 31 at 05:00 PM PT to August 7 at 04:59 PM PT
August 14 at 05:00 PM PT to August 21 at 04:59 PM PT

Cake Challenge

And in this one, you can collect cake frosting for logging in, battling, and completing missions in special matches to complete the Anniversary Cake and obtain its set of rewards. The period for the event is as follows:

July 21 at 12:00 PT to September 1 at 04:59 PM PT.

Pokemon UNITE 1st Anniversary Event – New Pokemon Licenses

The Pokemon Company and developer Timi Studio will also be adding six new Pokemon to the game’s roster, but so far, only three have been revealed:

Glaceon License: Coming July 21
- Completing the “Icy Glaceon Challenge” during the special July 21 to August 14 period will unlock its License for free.
Buzzwole License: Coming August 3.
Tyranitar License: Coming August 15.
