Popular survival horror stealth game Hello Neighbor is getting an animated series, with the test pilot airing later this week!
The goal of Hello Neighbor, developed by Russian video game studio Dynamic Pixels and published by tinyBuild, is to successfully sneak into the basement of the neighbor’s house to uncover a secret. The game gained popularity for its artificial intelligence (AI), which modifies the neighbor’s behavior based on the player’s past actions, such as setting traps along paths the player followed in a previous attempt.
The story for the upcoming animated series was by Carly Anne West, author of four Hello Neighbor book adaptations (2M+ copies sold), with the series being produced by Jon Carnage, ex-Director of Programming at Twitch and animated by Animasia Studio, best known its work with Cartoon Network.
The 6-minute test pilot episode of Hello Neighbor Animated Series: Breaking & Entering! will premiere on Friday, April 17th, at 10 am PST (Seattle/Los Angeles time).

The pilot episode – with a storyline of a group of kids led by Nicky breaking into their creepy Neighbor’s house to find their missing friends- will showcase the setup, the animation, giving fans of the franchise an idea of what to expect. This episode is mainly being aired with an aim to spark interest within the community of 30million fans and to see if the series can get a distribution deal from established studios.
While the pilot episode will be available for free, the video game publisher tinyBuild will be the first of its kind to utilize the YouTube Community Subscription format, offering perks and bonuses for paid subscribers. An extended 20-minute version of the first episode will also be available to these paid subscribers, with additional interviews and behind-the-scenes footage with the creative team included.
