Power Book III: Raising Kanan has a few new members joining the cast for the new season. Season two introduces actors LeToya Luckett (What Men Want), Omar Dorsey (Queen Sugar), and Paulina Singer (Dead of Summer). All three newcomers to the Raising Kanan Season Two cast are coming in and shaking up the family business, which rules everything in the world of Power.
LeToya Luckett joins the second season of Power Book III as Kenya, the mother of Jukebox (Hailey Kilgore), whom she left as a baby. Omar Dorsey joins as a new character in the Power universe as local businessman Cartier. Dorsey says Cartier will be “more and more integral to the world of Raq [Patina Miller] and Lou Lou [Malcolm Mays].” Paulina Singer enters the Raising Kanan Season Two cast as new singer Zisa. Zisa joins Lou Lou this season as he wants to continue to build his recording studio.
The second season of Power Book III: Raising Kanan premiered last month on Sunday, August 14th. The series created by Sascha Penn was released exclusively on Starz and is one of many in the Power universe. Season two brings us back to Queens in the 90s. The American crime drama television series is a second series and prequel to the original Power series, which aired in 2014. Power Book III follows the story of young Kanan Stark (Mekai Curtis), the character played first by executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.
Other installments from the Power universe include the Power universe’s spinoff series include, Power Book II: Ghost, Power Book IV: Force, and of course, Power Book III: Raising Kanan.
