War Machine is getting his own comic book run in February, complete with a brand new team of heroes. Force Works 2020 will pit James “Rhodey” Rhodes and three other Marvel heroes against a horde of robots as they do as robots tend to do in comics and try to take over the world.
It’s the year 2020, and a violent robot revolution threatens all manner of biological life! Teetering on the precipice of extinction, there’s only one man with enough tactical skill, killer instinct and ruthless leadership to lead the rebellion: War Machine!”
The comic series is being written by Matthew Rosenberg with art by Juanan Ramirez. A variant cover will also be available with art by Mike McKone and colors by David Curiel.
Rosenberg says Force Works 2020 unites War Machine with a paramilitary squad of other Marvel heroes, including U.S. Agent, Mockingbird, and Quake.
This is a big fun book with huge action, crazy twists, and four of Marvel’s best and most underappreciated heroes fighting for the survival of humanity… and fighting with each other.”
In an interview with Comicbook.com, Rosenberg spoke about what fans can expect from the series.
Force Works doesn’t work like other teams do, their missions don’t unfold like other teams do, and they don’t act like other teams do. War Machine, Mockingbird, U.S. Agent, and Quake are all soldiers, forced to work together because they are the only people who can or will do what is needed. But they don’t all see eye to eye. This is a big fun book with huge action, crazy twists, and four of Marvel’s best and most underappreciated heroes fighting for the survival of humanity… And fighting with each other.”
You can get your hands on the first issue of Force Works 2020 releases February 26 with two others releasing the following months.
