Priscilla Presley is no longer on speaking terms with Riley Keough amid their legal battle. The mother of Lisa Marie Presley decided not to speak to her granddaughter, Riley, as they hash out the former’s amended trust.
Why Are Priscilla Presley And Riley Keough Not Talking?
Elvis Presley’s widow, Priscilla, is not speaking to her granddaughter, Riley. Per DailyMail, some sources say that it is due to the ongoing legal battle over Lisa Marie’s will. 77-year-old Priscilla has been in a heated battle with the 33-year-old actress since Lisa Marie died last month.
The legal battle started after it was discovered that the late 54-year-old singer changed her will. Lisa Marie made her daughter, Riley, and son, Benjamin Keough her sole heirs. Unfortunately, Benjamin died in 2020 by suicide. The late songstress made the changes in 2016. Lisa Marie completely removed her mother, Priscilla, from the will.
When the King of Rock died in 1977, he left a $100 million fortune for his daughter only. It is not known exactly how much the late singer’s daughter left before her death. However, the late songstress’s mother is not pleased with the 2016 amendment. Priscilla has decided to battle it out in court.
The Legal Battle Between Priscilla And Riley
On Thursday, an insider revealed current developments in the ongoing legal battle. Recently, Priscilla urged fans to “ignore the noise” over the dispute seen in the media. However, Priscilla has stopped speaking with her granddaughter. An anonymous source revealed to Entertainment Tonight how the battle has taken a toll on Riley. The Mad Max: Fury Road actress has been mourning her mother since her death. The actress is stressed about the dispute with a family member.
Priscilla is adamant about the battle and feels that she has a valid case that will win in court. Elvis’s widow is convinced that the documents have been forged. Priscilla claimed that her daughter’s signature on the document looked “inconsistent.” The grandmother and granddaughter are only communicating through their various lawyers. Although Riley wished the dispute was settled in the family, she is gearing up for the battle.
