Yesterday, we gave you a friendly reminder that Sony’s PlayStation Holiday Sale (2020/2021) has been extended until January 19, 2021; in that reminder, we also covered new games that were added to the PlayStation Holiday Sale of 2020. Most of the titles on that list cost more than $10. With money tight due to an ongoing pandemic. Luckily, the holiday season has just ended and stimulus checks have been sent out (US); this means a little bit of wiggle room to buy new games. To help you save, we have compiled a list of ten games that cost under ten dollars.
Now I will start off by saying that if you are not already a member of PlayStation Plus or PS Now, you should be. January 2021’s PS Plus offer is a great place to start. The January 2021 line-up grants Man Eater, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and Greedfall. We also recommend PS Now. Yes, it is a subscription service similar to Xbox Game Pass, but offers a lot of the great PlayStation exclusives. Some of the titles on the 10 for 10 list are PlayStation exclusives. Without further adieu, here’s everything you should look to grab in PlayStation’s Holiday sale for 2020!
1. The Last of Us
The Last of Us is often considered one of Sony’s best franchises. The story is a meshing of a variety of Zombie/Infected tropes all in one. The characters of Joel, Ellie, Tess, Bill, and the supporting cast tell of a thrilling adventure across the United States. If you have yet to play this, it is definitely worth the $9.99.
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
Horizon Zero Dawn is a fun spin on a post Apocalyptic wasteland. In a world where humanity has had to restart, Mechanical dinosaurs now roam freely. The creators of Killzone have altered their style to create a new story-driven narrative. Play as Aloy as she looks to uncover her past in a vast open-world. Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition can be picked up for 9.99 which includes The Frozen Wilds.
3. Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag
For those looking to get into Assassin’s Creed and love pirates, look no further than Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. The story does a good job blending naval combat with island adventures. Despite being midway through the series, the game does not really too heavily on previous installments of the franchise. The story makes you wish you could be a pirate.
4. Bioshock: The Collection
Alright hear me out, Yes Bioshock 1 did come out in 2007 and Bioshock 2 in 2010; however, the series remains one of the best steampunk franchises out there to date. The franchise is a mixture of horror and action-adventure. The franchise is one inspirational factor to Storm in a Teacup’s Close to the Sun. Will you save the little sisters or take their power as your own? Would you kindly decide?
5. Don’t Starve Together: Console Edition
Welcome to Minecraft meets Tim Burton realm. The game will have you fighting for survival and laughing at all your insane deaths. You must discover how to survive either with friends or strangers. Explore a whole new world where things are easy to light on fire.
6. Doom
In one of the greatest reboots of the 2010s, Doom (2016) revives the Doom franchise. Doom (2016) is often considered to have one of the greatest video game soundtracks. Shoot, melee, and chainsaw your way through hell.
7. Borderlands: The Handsome Collection
If you are a fan of over the top looter-shooters look no further than Borderlands: The Handsome Collection. Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is comprised of Borderlands 2 + All DLC and Borderlands: The Presequel. Unravel the mysteries of the vault and prepare to take down the Children of the Vault (Borderlands 3).
8. Lego Marvel Super Heroes
If you have ever played a Lego game, you have probably had a good time. Lego games typically provide you with a variety of jokes to make players of all ages laugh. So what happens when you add Marvel to the mix? You are in for a wild time. Lego Marvel Super Heroes is a bit tougher than other Lego games but gives a wide array of Marvel Heroes
9. Darksiders: Fury’s Collection War and Death
Darksiders: Fury’s Collection War and Death is a bundle containing Darksiders and Darksiders 2. The bundle’s name can be confusing since Darksiders 3‘s protagonist is Fury. The story will allow you to play as War and Death as they seek revenge against those that have framed them. Darksiders 1 and 2 will provide players with at least 40 hours of gameplay. If you are a fan of older Zelda games then you are in for a good time.
10. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Alright, so the last one on the list isn’t actually 9.99 but is close to the 10-dollar threshold. For two dollars more, you can secure a title that many consider one of the best games of the last decade. For $11.99, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt can provide you with anywhere between 50 hours to 172 hours. See why the Witcher Games inspired books and TV shows.
Which of these PlayStation holiday sale offers will you consider? Personally from our holiday sale list, I will be picking up Horizon Zero Dawn and The Bioshock Collection.
