The upcoming next-generation Playstation has big shoes to fill in for its younger brother, the PS4. Yet, Sony has been exploring and delivering answers to its oldest criticism. After a brief glimpse at the DualSense demo with Geoff Keighley in July, fans have been wanting to know so many more details since. Thanks to a hands-on leak from Twitter user, Galaxyrain, there are a few more photos of the DualSense and various technical information shared, including battery life. Notably, the increase over the DS4 controller is about 50 percent extra capacity for a total amperage of 1560mA. This increase stands as one of the largest controller batteries in recent history, easily trumping the Nintendo Switch Pro Controllers 1300mA capacity. This also easily dwarfs any of the rechargeable solutions players can expect to find on any Xbox console. With Microsoft embracing that iconic Xbox identity of its previous controller design, it’s becoming clearer that the DualSense is truly shaping itself to be a new video game experience.
hands on #PS5 controller #Dualsense5 , just got a short test on it. The battery capacity is 1560mA, much more than the PS4 one. pic.twitter.com/bS0wako69J

Galaxy also shared some other interesting tidbits of information that can point to several areas of interest for future announcements. While he noted that the overall feeling of the controller and buttons were much more appealing than the DS4, he even noted that the analog sticks felt very similar; but Galaxy also tested the charging capabilities. Utilizing a USB type C charging port, the controller has more freedom to connect and quick charge with other compatible devices. Having an available current of at least 1500mA, the charging will support a higher wattage to deliver more power, much quicker.
This information also is not the first DualSense leak to have showcased the controller and discussed technical specifics. Reddit user viper_on_fire shared some similar information last week with a video displaying a DualSense prototype model. It’s reasonable to believe that Sony has distributed these controllers for testing and QA purposes, thus many of the details that remain consistent across leaks are likely to prove true. As we inch ever so closer to the eventual release date of these new consoles, there will inevitably be more controller details shared. From the information presented, these leaks posit the DualSense to answer players’ woes from the DualShock era.
