The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles were released in November 2020. Due to supply chain issues and global challenges, you may consider your options when choosing which console to buy. However, gamers face a new question during Amazon Prime Day, which starts on July 12. – ‘Should I buy PS5 or Xbox on Prime Day or wait for a better price?’
Which Should You Buy on Prime Day?
PS5 and Xbox Series X|S will be on sale during Prime Day, which lasts from 12-13 July. If you haven’t bought a next-gen console yet, are stumped by Xbox’s improvement, or are fed up with the PS5’s stock issues, which console should you choose?
Xbox Series X|S
Xbox Series X is Microsoft’s most powerful next-generation console. You can play games in 4K at up to 120 fps to enjoy the visual realism and smooth frame rate of exclusive games, such as Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5. On the other hand, the Xbox Series S is different from Series X. Microsoft’s less expensive console features a weaker GPU and aims for a resolution of 1440p rather than 4K.
Compared to PlayStation 5, The Xbox Series X|S is much easier to find. There are also some discounts before waiting for Prime Day. For instance, Xbox Series X is now available via the Microsoft-Best Buy partnership, and you can easily request an invitation on Amazon. On the other hand, if you’re ready to spend a little more than the list price, there is stock available from third-party dealers. We don’t know how much the discounted price will be on Prime Day. However, you can get the Series X for $500 and the Series S for $300 from stores like Walmart and Best Buy.
PlayStation 5
With a GPU clock speed of over 10 teraflops, the PlayStation 5 easily handles graphically demanding exclusives like Gran Turismo 7, Horizon: Forbidden West, and Returnal. Like Series X, the PS5’s SSD trivializes loading times, enabling quick movement in open-world maps.
But the PlayStation 5 has been dealing with stock issues for years. It’s worth noting that stores like Amazon and Best Buy may have scheduled stocks for Prime Day. The PlayStation 5 costs $500, while the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition retails for $400. But we don’t even know if it will be in stock, let alone a discounted price.
