It’s been about three years since the final episode of the hit detective comedy Psych aired. Earlier this year to USA Network announced Psych: The Movie would air on its network in December.
While it’s exciting news, the latest video shows that Shawn and Gus have their work cut out for them if they want to get back in shape. Getting in shape means something completely different for this duo though, as our favorite fake Psychic and “Ghee Buttersnaps” need to practice their high fives and catch phrases.

So far, Psych: The Movie already has a lot of potential and looks to carry on the true spirit of the original series. All of the original main cast will return for the TV movie, which will be directed by the series creator Steven Franks.
What would the movie be without its guest stars though – something the TV series was known for. Zachary Levi (Chuck) has been announced to play the movie’s main villain, “Thin White Duke,” while WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair will play the character Heather Rockrear.
Westworld star Jimmi Simpson – also known for his role Liam McPoyle in Always Sunny in Philidelphia – will also reprise his role as Mary Lightly. It should be interesting to see just what capacity his character is featured in the film, considering he died in the TV series.
Franks and series star, James Roday, have written the screenplay for the film as well. The creator also mentioned at the San Diego Comic Con panel that there will be a lot of singing in the film, as well as Pineapples!
Psych: The Movie doesn’t have an exact release date quite yet, but be sure to keep your eyes out for updates and changes leading up to December, when it is currently slotted to air. For more information, be sure to check back to the site for all of your other Nerdy News and Needs!
