Quavo and Offset got into a brawl backstage at the 2023 Grammys. Drama in the family? Both rappers apparently got physical at the Award event and had to be separated.
Cause Of Quavo And Offset’s Backstage Brawl at the Grammys
The Migos rappers were involved in a fight backstage at the just-concluded 2023 Grammys. The rappers are still not on good terms following the death of the late Takeoff on November 1, 2022. According to reports, both rappers got into a fight before 31-year-old Quavo took the stage to perform a tribute to Takeoff.
The fight allegedly happened because the Grammys asked 31-year-old Offset to be part of the tribute to Takeoff. However, before he was set to take the stage, Quavo blocked him from doing that.
According to TMZ, it was Quavo who started the fight. The Clout rapper denied on Twitter on Monday all claims of a fight between him and his cousin ever took place. On Twitter, he said what happened between him and his “brother” did not look like a fight.
Offset’s wife, Cardi B, reportedly got involved in the fight as well. The Bodak Yellow singer had just got off stage after presenting the award for Best Rap Album to Kendrick Lamar. The rapper witnessed the fight between the Migos rappers. ET reported that the WAP singer was yelling at both rappers for fighting.
The Relationship Dynamics Of The Migos Rappers
The three rappers were related. Takeoff was Quavo’s nephew, and Offset was his cousin. The trio grew up together outside of Atlanta. Before Takeoff’s death, Quavo and the Offset were on good terms. Following the murder of Takeoff, the brothers had a falling out, and since then, it is clear that things have not gotten better between them.
Takeoff was killed at a bowling alley in Houston after a fight broke out at the event. In December, Patrick Xavier Clark was arrested for the murder of the Stir Fry rapper. Another person, Cameron Joshua, was arrested for illegally carrying a weapon linked to the shooting.
Quavo wrote Without You for Takeoff as a tribute to him. The Hotel Lobby rapper also performed the song for Takeoff as a tribute during the in Memoriam section of the 2023 Grammys.
