In what many describe as an inevitable turn of events, The Bachelorette contestant Logan Palmer dumped Rachel Recchia in favor of her co-lead Gabby Windey. The situation took Recchia by surprise, forcing her to abandon plans with other contestants to put her emotions in check.
The spotlight shone further on Logan when Gabby surprised everyone by welcoming him into her team, proving his affections may not be one-sided after all. This twist was the long-anticipated climax to the love-triangle brewing between the three Bachelorette contestants for weeks.
The Bachelorette Logan Palmer Dumps Rachel Recchia
The episode kicked off with the two bachelorettes embarking on a romantic journey to Bruges aboard Virgin Voyages’ Valiant Lady cruise ship with their remaining prospects. Things took an interesting turn when Rachel invited Logan to this week’s group date but received a big shocker as the show’s contestant turned her down.
The 26-year-old videographer made it clear he wanted to be on Team Gabby. He admitted to expecting a rose from the ICU nurse during the previous rose ceremony. While he never received one, the videographer revealed he found it hard to forget their connection. The Bachelorette contestant concluded:
“When I read that date card today, I felt that everyone else on that card was sure that you were going to be someone who they did end up with at the end of this, while I still had reservations and feelings for Gabby. And that being said, I can’t go today.”
Rachel Handled Logan Palmer’s Rejection Impressively
In response, Rachel reassured Logan she was cool with his decision to follow his heart and appreciated him telling her, even though she wished he did so earlier. However, when speaking to the show host Jesse Palmer, she sang a different tune, saying before the breakup, she really hoped things progressed between her and Logan.
To process her emotions, The Bachelorette co-lead decided to call off the planned date with the other contestants, as she did not feel up for it. She shared:
“I feel bad that they have to keep dealing with this week after week. But I am not ready right now to go on a group date and act like I don’t feel like a huge loser.”
Jesse broke the news to the other men, asking them to reconvene late for the afterparty instead.
Gabby’s Team Gets New Addition
Logan wasted no time sharing the update of his relationship status with Gabby, who seemed skeptical at first to be caught in a love triangle with her co-lead.
“This is my worst nightmare on the outside of things. But it’s not you. I just want to always, always, always put my friends first. And I am and I have been interested in you,” she told Logan, confirming his feelings were not one-sided.
Ultimately, Gabby checked in with her co-lead, gaining her approval before welcoming the videographer into her dating pool. Despite her willingness to support her friend, Rachel admitted in her on-camera interview that she felt disappointed at Gabby’s decision as she really hoped she sent him home instead.
Logan had made no secret of his swaying emotions between the two co-leads, giving the most significant pointer last week when he admitted he still liked Gabby. The controversial admission came right after accepting Rachel’s Rose at the Rose ceremony. At the time, Rachel admitted she was eager, like the rest of the world, to see how things play out as such an occurrence was unprecedented on the show. It appears Logan finally decided to take a stand, and the flight attendant took it hard.
