For those looking for a survival-oriented multiplayer title, you’ve likely come across Raft once or twice. Raft features players working towards building up a small boat and surviving in this unknown world. It’s a simple concept, but one that’s highly elevated by an appealing art style and a great amount of depth. When it comes to indie titles, this is one you have to check out. It’s been receiving content updates throughout Steam Early Access, one of which you can check out soon. Raft’s twelfth update, The Second Chapter, releases on October 8! You can see the full reveal trailer below.
The Second Chapter of Raft brings plenty of new mechanics to work with, along with more story to progress the game forward. Most notably, there are new locations in the form of Caravan Town and Tangarda. Both of which are contrasts of one another, but are home to equally interesting levels of lore. It wouldn’t be new locations without enemies though, with the Butler Bot and Mudhog proving to be formidable challenges. They provide new ways of attack, which crafty survivors will have to learn how to dodge if they are to succeed.
Excluding these locations though, it’s now possible to build ziplines to traverse through Raft’s large world. They may be costly, but the efficiency is unmatched by anything else in the game. These are true for the battery charger as well, providing you with ample, rechargeable energy. There’s plenty more being added which you can find through the trailer above, all of which is very exciting for players of Raft.
If you haven’t played Raft yet, now would likely be a good time. It already has plenty of content to toy around with, which this update is going to increase exponentially. For now, I want to hear your thoughts on this update. Will you be venturing through the new locations in Raft? Let me know in the comments below.
