Some filmmakers have a go-to actor that they like to use. Martin Scorsese had Robert De Niro, then went to Leonardo DiCaprio, Jordan Peele has Daniel Kaluuya, but then there is Mike Flanagan with a whole roster of talent that he rotates between each project. Among those actors, Bly Manor and Midnight Mass star Rahul Kohli will be in the Netflix series The Midnight Club, Collider confirmed with new images of the show, including the iZombie star. While he was cast in the next Flanagan project, The Fall of the House of Usher, it was not known until now that he would star in the YA horror series.
The images in question of the Netflix series adaption of The Midnight Club shows Rahul Kohli, Samantha Sloyan (The Haunting of Hill House, Hush, Midnight Mass), and Zach Gilford (Midnight Mass). Sloyan, who plays a free-spirited neighbor named Shasta, is seen walking in the woods. Gilford is a nurse named Mark, who supervises the terminally ill children that the show, like the book by Christopher Pike, centers on as they gather to tell each other scary stories. The latest addition of the adult actors is in an unknown role, but we see the Midnight Mass actor staring up at the sky worriedly.
Rahul Kohli starring in the Netflix series The Midnight Club in an unknown role
Mike Flanagan has made most of his biggest projects as Netflix shows. Rahul Kohli in The Midnight Club is his third project behind his fourth, The Fall of the House of Usher, with Flanagan. The filmmaker has also frequently worked with his wife Kate Siegel (Oculus, Hush, Hill House, Ouija: Origin of Evil, Gerald’s Game, Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, House of Usher), Annabeth Gish (Hill House, Midnight Mass, House of Usher), Robert Longstreet (Midnight Club, Hill House, Doctor Sleep, Midnight Mass, House of Usher), and more.
Dubbed the “Flanaverse,” The Midnight Club will star regulars Rahul Kohli, Sloyan, Gilford, and Matt Biedel (Midnight Mass). For the kids, Annarah Cymone (Midnight Mass) and Igby Rigney (Midnight Mass). The series will also star Heather Langenkamp (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Ruth Codd, Aya Furukawa (The Baby-Sitters Club), and Yuki Morita (The Terror). It will release on October 7.
Looking ahead, much of this cast will return to working with the horror filmmaker. The Fall of the House of Usher is the next in line after The Midnight Club, which will see Rahul Kohli, Sloyan, Gilford, Rigney, Codd, Biedel, and Furukawa. That series has no date but should be expected in 2023.
