Just because you’re in quarantine doesn’t mean you can’t attend concerts with your friends – at least not if you’re a gamer. Launching this weekend American rapper Travis Scott is debuting a brand-new track via an in-game concert in Epic’s popular battle-royal game Fortnite.
The concert “Astronomical” is featured to go live Friday night (April 23rd) at 7 pm EDT. With additional screenings to occur from April 23-25 to appeal to a worldwide audience. So if you miss the first, you can be sure to catch it on one of the four other screenings. For the full list of times and dates, be sure to check out Fortnite’s Astronomical event page here.
The “doors to the event” open 30 minutes before showtime with players encouraged to get in early to “secure their spot.” The event itself will most likely be taking place around the in-game islands near Sweaty Sands. Players are currently able to see the early formations of a stage being built. This will most likely be under construction in the following days, so keep an eye out.
An other-worldly experience like nothing you’ve ever seen is coming April 23-25.

In addition to the concert comes new purchasable emotes and outfits featuring Scott’s likeness. Along with individual “Astronomical” challenges to be on offer for even more rewards. Simply attending the event will score you a free “Astroworld Glider” and two new loading screens.
This isn’t the first time Fortnite has held a concert in-game. With the Marshmellow concert taking place in early 2019. Players attended the event via its own dedicated mode, which saw the 10-minute long concert held in a stadium with different effects. The game has come a long way since then, and it will be interesting to see what Travis Scott and Fortnite have in store for us.
Perhaps we will see even more events like this as quarantine continues. Either way, this is the perfect time to cancel your Friday night plans and spend some time indoors socializing.
