Ravil Isyanov of NCIS fame passed away on September 29 in his home in Los Angeles. According to Deadline, Isyanov passed away at the age of 59 after a long battle with an undisclosed illness. Isyanov is most known for his work in NCIS: Los Angeles, but has been an active actor for the last 20 years.
Ravil Isyanov Early Life
Ravil Akhmedullovich Isyanov was born in a town by the name of Voskresensk in the former Soviet Union on August 20th, 1962. Eventually, when he got older he would end up serving in Soviet Air Force for a couple of years before working a couple of years at a regional theatre in Khabarovsk. Soon after he would enroll in the MKhAT Studio-School in Moscow. Isyanov was mentored by Alexander Kalyagin, a well-known Soviet/Russian actor and film director, and would graduate in 1990. After the Soviet Union fell he would stay in Britain until 1998 when he eventually decided to move to Los Angeles.
Professional Life
Best known for his role as Anatoli Kirkin in CBS’s NCIS: Los Angeles; showing up first back in 2013 and making 6 more appearances after that. His first major role in the states came back in 1992 when he was cast in the 1992 crime thriller Back in the U.S.S.R. as Georgi. Isyanov is credited with over 70 credits in a slew of television shows and movies. Some notable television shows include: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, JAG, Alias, 24, and most recently The Americans, GLOW, Bones, and Shooter. Some of his notable movie roles include: Hackers, GoldenEye, The Jackal, Along Came a Spider, and most recently Transformers: Dark of the Moon, with 25 Cents Per Minute and Blonde currently in post-production.
Isyanov is survived by his wife, Erika, his daughter Gulya along with her husband Marios; his granddaughter, Cassandra, grandson, Nikita; his sister Dina and his nephew Sergey. Along with his former wife, Marsha; his step-daughter Aneta along with her husband Jon; and step-granddaughters Mila and Tali.
