Razer has just announced a new controller called the Wolverine V2 Pro, which was made specifically to compete with the DualSense. It does this by offering the same features while being more customizable. It does not, however, give you claws.
The Wolverine from Razer lets you swap out its control modules however you wish. There have been more than a few controllers with similar modular functionality, but all of them have been held back in terms of adoption because of the steep price tag. Razer’s offering won’t be shaking things up much since it will go for a cool $249.99, somehow even more expensive than the DualSense Edge.
An interesting thing to note is that Razer’s new controller is officially licensed by Sony, which means it was officially approved at some point during its development. The controller aims to offer more features than Sony’s “Pro Controller” while providing a more customizable gaming experience.
Razer Wolverine V2 Pro Controller Features
Talking about features, the Razer Wolverine V2 Pro is not your run-of-the-mill Xbox clone. It uses a blazing fast 2.4Ghz wireless connection and supports shorter actuation for each button. Razer also promises that your massive investment won’t die off any time soon, as the switches are claimed to have “long-term durability.”
The star of the show is definitely the control modules that can be changed on the Razer Wolverine V2 Pro. Each stick can be swapped out for another on the fly, depending on the situation’s demands. Along with that, the controller also comes with adjustable triggers making it ideal for shooters.
The Razer Wolverine V2 Pro has six remappable buttons on the back, making it easier to reach them while having both thumbs on the sticks. If nothing else, it will definitely compete with the Xbox Elite controller and the DualSense Edge. Razer’s new controller launches at the end of this year on December 31 for a hefty $249.99.
