It is a sad day for the Red Dead Online community. If we had to put the two Rockstar online game communities in perspective, we could say that RDO‘s community is the one that has been waiting longer. For what? For Red Dead Online Major Updates. Since Red Dead Redemption 2 launched, players have been fascinated with its world. The physics, the lightning, the gameplay, all of it. When the Online part was released, players were even more excited. Well, that excitement died down quickly. After one year of no updates, Rockstar has finally decided to make it official. Red Dead Online Updates will not happen anymore.
Red Dead Online Major Updates Didn’t Please the Community
Rockstar has announced in their latest newswire that they are focusing on their next big title. Grand Theft Auto 6. Which we know very little about. With that, the company has mentioned that the updates will diminish. Yet, only the two online games will suffer more than the other. In the newswire, you can see a massive chunk of it dedicated to Grand Theft Auto Online. A game that has received constant updates, a next-gen version, and even a new heist. However, Red Dead Online Major Updates didn’t happen at all. Yes, players got an update called Blood Money, but no one liked it. Rockstar didn’t even want to finish the main story of the online campaign. Something that people always expected. But, it never came.
Now with Rockstar moving resources to another game, we can all assume one thing. GTA Online will continue to receive updates because it is the one that is making more money for them. However, Red Dead Online, despite the nice community, won’t receive anything but bonuses for existing jobs. Players are even making a funeral due to Red Dead Online being one year without a big update. It is sad to see an online game die before reaching the heights it could’ve.
