Red Dead Redemption 2 Could Get a New-Gen Update

Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the best games in the world. The game sold millions of copies and got many awards. It was initially released for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Thanks to the backward compatibility of new-gen consoles, it’s also available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. The news about the game will make that playability even better. According to a rumor, Rockstar Games is planning a Red Dead Redemption 2 update for new-gen consoles.

Rockstar Games recently did the same thing for Grand Theft Auto V, and we saw similar graphics to PC’s ultra-quality settings on new-gen consoles. Now the turn is RDR2’s. Truth to be told, the game already has impressive graphics. But apparently, Rockstar won’t be fed up with this.

Red Dead Redemption 2 to Get a New-Gen Update

Due to the game’s release date, it’s not outdated at all. 2018 was great for graphic quality, but it has been hard to compromise the game into PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. That restriction caused a 30FPS framerate limit and lower graphical quality than the PC. So, a higher framerate is one of our expectations as well.

Trusted game informer Tez2 says the game will get a new-gen update somewhen. It’s not clear when, but the informer says at least it’s planned.

A RDR2 update for PS5 & XSX is planned at some point down the road. No idea when tho.

We can have predictions thanks to the Grand Theft Auto V update we saw in the past months. The update wasn’t free for GTA V; this probably won’t change with Red Dead Redemption 2 update. You’ll have to buy the enhanced version if you want to play with better graphics on your next-gen console. Also, we might expect quality similar to the best settings of the PC version or close.

Today, we’ve also heard about the Rockstar Game’s original Red Dead Redemption’s canceled remaster project. Rockstar did a great job with Grand Theft Auto V’s remaster, but they’ve also failed with the GTA Trilogy and other canceled projects. Red Dead Redemption 2 is a big game; they should focus more on this game’s remaster.
