We are just a week away from the release of one of the most-anticipated games of the year, Red Dead Redemption 2. Let that sink in.
In anticipation for what could possibly be the biggest game release of 2018, Rockstar Games has released an explosive final trailer for the wild west epic and hype levels are at an all-time high. You can watch the action-packed clip here:
More Van Der Linde gang antics and interactions are on full display here, including bank robberies and big ol’ dynamite detonations. The game’s anti-hero, Arthur Morgan, also expresses his loyalty to the gang in the trailer, giving us a deeper look into just who Arthur really is.
For those who have already pre-ordered Red Dead Redemption 2 in digital format, you can now start pre-downloading the game on PS4 and Xbox One (and you should really start now because the file size is big). Pre-ordering players also get access to some exclusive DLC goodies, and PS4 owners will also get access to special content before Xbox players.
A description of Red Dead Redemption 2 provided by Rockstar is as follows:
America, 1899. The end of the wild west era has begun as lawmen hunt down the last remaining outlaw gangs. Those who will not surrender or succumb are killed.
After a robbery goes badly wrong in the western town of Blackwater, Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him.
The launch trailer news may be soured for some after the breaking news about Rockstar’s working conditions. The developers very own Dan Houser claimed in an article from Vulture that the team that worked on Red Dead Redemption 2 worked 100+ hour weeks and subsequently started an industry-wide conversation about game development “crunch”.
Red Dead Redemption 2Â arrives on PS4 and Xbox One on October 26th.
