A new lawman mod, RDRFR, is to be introduced into Red Dead Redemption 2. Screenshots of the mod revealed through RDR’s community hub, Mod Red Dead, give players a glimpse into what’s to come.
The player can assume the role of a Wild West Constable, maintaining the peace and arresting local outlaws. At this time, there has been no announcement of an official release date for the mod.
The mod follows in a similar vein after GTA V’s police mod, LSPDFR. However, the creative team behind it promises there’ll be “a greater focus on interaction and investigation as opposed to LA style car chases.”
They intend for it to be “far more intimate and refined than any previous mod.”
The team is reportedly working on launching a beta as soon as they can, hoping to have the mod available for Red Dead players “within the space of some weeks,” subsequently allowing it to “grow and evolve naturally as we see how people play it.”
As a result, they can refine any issues accordingly before the official release date.
The screenshots reveal the types of scenarios a player may face. Prompts provide gamers the choice to question, confront, greet, antagonize, or arrest a suspect.
The lawman mod will not be the only new feature coming to the world of RDR, with the recent announcement of a moonshiner role launching on December 13 online.
However, Red Dead Online has suffered from issues, particularly on how money can be made in the game.
Recently, the soundtrack to Red Dead Redemption 2 was released on vinyl, out on September 20. Already available digitally and produced by 11-time Grammy Award winner Daniel Lanois, it features music from D’Angelo, Willie Nelson, Rhiannon Giddens, and Josh Homme.
