Red Dead Redemption 2, first released in 2018, is a hugely popular title developed and published by Rockstar Games. It acts as a prequel to 2010’s Red Dead Redemption and tells the story of Arthur Morgan, a veteran member of the Van der Linde gang. While the title is available on most major platforms, it is most popular in its PC form. This is largely thanks to the work of mods created by RDRIIÂ players with knowledge of coding and modding.
Like any open-world game involving horses or similar creatures, mounts are important. They get you where you need to faster than walking. And some games provide the player with additional inventory slots. A user named JulioNIB on Patreon seemed to feel that a run of the mill horse in RDR2 wasn’t enough anymore.
Looking to spice up the mount feature of Red Dead Redemption 2, they created a mod known as Pig Rider. Adding it to the game library of files, players are granted multiple new mounts. One could choose to ride a wild boar into battle. In addition to the choice of wild boar, players could also choose to ride a grizzly bear or giant wolf.
RDR2 Gets a Fresh Look
Even if you’ve already played the game, the mod may give some players fresh eyes on one of their favorite games.
If you would like to try out the Pig Rider mod or others, it will require signing onto a desktop or laptop. There is, unfortunately, no current support for console-oriented mods at this time. What do you think of riding a giant wolf or boar into the wild outdoors? Will you be trying out the mod on your next playthrough? Let us know in the comments.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
