By now, many of you are probably done with Red Dead Redemption 2, or at least your first playthrough. There’s a good chance that you are wishing you could relive your adventures. Sure, you can always keep playing, but that doesn’t always recapture the joy you initially felt.
For me, I’ve always found that music can help to evoke the feeling of a first playthrough. And if you’re the same, you’re in luck, thanks to releases of the official RDR2 soundtrack.
Already available digitally, the Red Dead Redemption 2 soundtrack is now available to preorder as a limited edition vinyl and as we all know, everything sounds better through vinyl.
Produced by 11-time Grammy Award winner Daniel Lanois, The Music of Red Dead Redemption 2: Original Soundtrack features music created exclusively for Red Dead Redemption 2 by a wide-range of award-winning artists including D’Angelo, Willie Nelson, Rhiannon Giddens, and Josh Homme. Or so says the official blurb.

Just look at that red vinyl, it’s absolutely beautiful and makes me want it even more. I’d like to point out that we aren’t getting paid for any sponsorship. I just love vinyl as well as game soundtracks and think this looks great.
Heres the Red Dead tracklist to whet your appetites:
- Unshaken – D’Angelo
- Moonlight – Daniel Lanois, Daryl Johnson, Joseph Maize, Darryl Hatcher & Rhiannon Giddens
- That’s the Way It Is – Daniel Lanois
- Mountain Finale – Daniel Lanois
- Crash of Worlds – Rocco DeLuca
- Cruel World – Willie Nelson
- Red – Daniel Lanois
- Mountain Hymn – Rhiannon Giddens
- Mountain Banjo – Rhiannon Giddens
- Table Top – Daniel Lanois
- Love Come Back – Daniel Lanois
- Oh My Lovely – Daniel Lanois
- Cruel World – Joshua Homme
I’m pleased to see game soundtracks coming out on vinyl. I’ve recently bought the, quite beautiful, Silent Hill 2 soundtrack and will be buying the Metal Gear Solid vinyl as soon as it’s available. I can’t wait.
The Red Dead Redemption 2 vinyl releases on September 20th and can be preordered here at a cost of $29.98 if you’re interested. The whole package looks great and would be a worthwhile addition to any gamer’s collection.
Let us know in the comments what you think. Will you be buying this, or are you happy just hearing the sounds of RDR2 as they blare from your TV on your 5th playthrough?
