One of Rockstar’s most thriving game franchises is Red Dead Redemption. Rockstar combines open-world gameplay and a very rich, moving, character-driven narrative in the well-known western series. Players were excited to hear that Rockstar had briefly considered creating a remake of the original Red Dead Redemption. However, a recent report said the Red Dead Redemption remake wouldn’t come anytime soon due to the GTA Trilogy’s weak sales and focus on Grand Theft Auto 6. And now, Rob Wiethoff, who played John Marston in Red Dead Redemption, talked about rumors that Rockstar may remake the original game.
Rob Wiethoff (John Marston) on RDR Remake: “That Would be Awesome”
In an interview with YouTuber Dan Allen Gaming, Rob Wiethoff (aka Red Dead Redemption John Marston) said he’d love for it to happen but doesn’t know whether it will. “I don’t know. I would love an opportunity to work with [Rockstar Games] again, whether it be remastering something or something totally different,” Rob Wiethoff said in the video. “I don’t know. I can’t really say enough good things about Rockstar. If they do that, great, that would be awesome.”
Rockstar has announced in their latest newswire that they are focusing on their next big title, Grand Theft Auto 6. Which we know very little about. With that, the company has mentioned that the updates will diminish. Yet, only the two online games will suffer more than the other. In the newswire, you can see a massive chunk dedicated to Grand Theft Auto Online, a game that has received constant updates, a next-gen version, and even a new heist. However, Red Dead Online Major Updates didn’t happen at all.
However, Red Dead Online, despite the friendly community, won’t receive anything but bonuses for existing jobs. Players are even making a funeral due to Red Dead Online being one year without a big update. It is sad to see an online game die before reaching the heights it could’ve.
