Redneck Ed and the Televised Intergalactic Insanity
What do you get when you place a simple mechanic who got his face ripped off and has to compete in an intergalactic game show? The five-person Russian development team over at Rustic Fantastic has the answer with their first major project, Redneck Ed: Astro Monsters Show.
The new indie action beat-’em-up game will feature the literal faceless Ed as he embarks on a gruesome adventure to reclaim his face as he battles against transforming aliens. Things only get worse for our redneck hero, for he aims to take down the evil beyond the curtains of a reality show that is watching his every move.
Redneck Ed is presented with hand-drawn art and animation with a classic arcade aesthetic to create a unique extraterrestrial experience where the player will end up with one of several endings. An assortment of side quests will be offered to the player that will determine which conclusion the player will receive.
As more worlds are explored, more blood will be shed, as Ed will encounter nearly every alien known in the universe – some small and cute, some tall and terrifying.
Who is behind this interplanetary madness? Will Redneck Ed recover his stolen face? Redneck Ed: Astro Monsters Show is coming to PC later this year, but a demo will be released during the Steam Game Festival, where short demos and playable experiences are teased to celebrate upcoming games. The event will also provide opportunities to chat with developers, with Redneck Ed potentially being one of these titles.
Redneck Ed: Astro Monsters Show will be published by 101XP, who have published projects such as Game of Thrones: Winter is Coming, Era of Legends, and Naruto Online. You can wishlist the game now and set a reminder on Steam for when the Steam Game Festival commences on June 16th at 10 AM PDT.
