Running, gunning, and looting never gets old in Remnant: From the Ashes. With a solid amount of challenge, several different guns, and unique ways to play, Remnant proves to be my favorite soulslike. Hopping in with a few buddies and slaughtering the Root terror is always a good time. The same goes for the Swamps of Corsus DLC, which brought the roguelike Survival Mode and is a ton of fun. Today though, Gunfire Games looks to bringing Remnant’s story to an end. Remnant: From the Ashes – Subject 2923 is now available on all platforms, adding several new gameplay and story elements. You can find the launch trailer for the DLC below.
Subject 2923 looks to bring an end to the Root once and for all. What we thought destroyed the Root in the main campaign was only just the start. They still roam these worlds, and it’s up to us to put a stop to it. The game will look into the world of Reisum, an ice planet ravaged by the Root. Natural life isn’t happy with you either, so you’ll have to be careful as you traverse the snow-covered camps. Along the way, you’ll discover the root of the dreamers through Ward Prime, and find out more about the world itself as you work to end the Root. Remnant: From the Ashes is pulling out all it can for this DLC, giving players a solid end to its story.
Story and worlds aren’t all that comes with the final Remnant DLC though. New areas mean more bosses, and that means more loot. You can expect to find additional weapons, mods, armor sets, and skins as you venture through Ward Prime and Reisum. You may also find new allies, some rather unexpected given the circumstances. To get the new skins, you’ll need to venture back into Survival Mode which has been updated with new zones. The same goes for Adventure and Hardcore Mode, both receiving the new sections of the game.
Remnant: From the Ashes – Subject 2923 brings a heap of new content to the game, so we hope you hop in there and enjoy it. You can purchase the DLC on PC, PS4, and Xbox One for $10. What do you think of the new snow-covered world? Will the story come to a fitting end, given what we have so far? Let us know, and stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
