Renault Vitality are the winners of this year’s Rocket League World Championship Season 7. The three-day competition wrapped up with the French team winning 4 games out of 5, knocking out G2 Esports.
Vitality’s weekend started out strong with a 3 to 1 game win over Ground Zero Gaming. While their next game against G2 Esports didn’t go in their favor. However, once they hit the field on Sunday, they were able to bring down NRG Esports and the champions from season 6, Cloud9 in a 4 to 0 game winning streak during the semifinals.

Cloud9 played strong as well, winning their first three matches against Lowkey Esports, Triple Trouble, and FC Barcelona.
Team player, Kyle (@ScrubKillaRL) was awarded the World Championship MVP award after the final as well. The team is made up of Fairy Peak, Kadop, and Neqzo.
Vitality players took to Twitter after their big win to celebrate their victory.

The event took place at Newark, New Jersey at the Prudential Center from Friday June 21st to the 23rd. It was the first year the competition saw teams from South America and two of them made it all the way to the final showroom floor; Lowkey Esports and INT eSports. More than a dozen South American teams competed in the tournaments leading up to finals.
During the victory, the crowd got wrapped up in the excitement and set a new world record for the longest wave, clocking in at 23 minutes long.

Vitality walked away with more than just a trophy and title. They also got to take home a $200,000 prize, while G2 Esports won $120,000, and third and fourth; Cloud 9 and Rogue, got $40,000.
More than 67,000 people watched live on Twitch as Vitality scored the winning goal of the Rocket League Championship Series. The World Championships began in 2012 and sees teams competing from Europe, North America, and South America.
