With so many side characters who populate the Resident Evil franchise, gamers often speculate as to their various fates. Ghost Survivors will let fans play through ‘what if’ scenarios featuring three different in-game characters. According to a recent Tweet from the official Resident Evil 2 Twitter page, the three stories with the new mode will be No Time to Mourn, Runaway, and Forgotten Soldier. Players will follow the gun shop owner, the mayor’s daughter, and the soldier respectively in these DLC packs.

The Resident Evil franchise has had its fair share of ups and downs over the years. Seemingly straying from its roots with Resident Evil 4, and doubling down on the action over horror with the 5thand 6th iterations. The series didn’t see a return to form until Resident Evil 7, with a grittier and more horrifying experience. The RE 2 remake doesn’t just throw a new skin over an old favorite but has turned the game into a whole new experience. The game is visceral, never letting the player drop their guard. Ammo and health are scarce and the adrenaline is always flowing.
Released on the Xbox One, PS4, and PC, Capcom has proven once again they know how to breath new life into old favorites. For fans of the series who miss the survival horror days of the franchise, RE 2 is a welcome breath of zombified fresh air. The Resident Evil 2 remake will attract old and new fans alike, all the while, reminding everyone that you can still get scared from a video game.
