As you begin Chapter Two in Resident Evil 4, the first thing you have to do is figure out how to find your gear, but it won’t be that simple. You have to make your way through a series of puzzles and enemies and even meet a couple of new people along the way, one of which will be very helpful almost immediately. Though, there is a bit of a twist for this portion of the Chapter: you will only be using knives for the better part of it. This can get pretty tricky, but don’t worry; we have faith in you. Keep reading to learn how to get your gear in Resident Evil 4.
How to Find Your Gear in Resident Evil 4
When you first wake up after the new Chapter begins, you will be chained to the ceiling along with a guy you just met named Luis. After some quick thinking, you free yourselves, but not before you are attacked by an angry Ganado. Once you regain control of Leon, you should take off and head out of the room right away since there’s nothing for you to pick up there.
As you head out the door and through the hallways, you will eventually come across a body lying on the ground with a Kitchen Knife sticking out of it. Since you don’t have any of your gear for the moment, you will have to collect the knife so that you can make it through the enemies without dying.
As you enter the next room, there will be a Ganado in front of you with his back to you. Crouch down to get close to him and perform a stealth attack on him. This will greatly lower the durability of your knife, but the great thing is, when you kill the Ganado, he will drop another knife for you.
If you look to your right, you will be able to see your gear on a table in a room that you don’t have access to yet. Head through the next door to make your way into the outdoor factory area. Once you’re out there, there will be another Ganado that you should be able to take down in the same fashion as the previous one you encountered.
Before you move on to the next area, be sure to check in both of the furnace doors. You can collect some Handgun Ammo and a Sapphire Treasure.
Disable the two Bear Traps in front of you in the next room and look around for the busted windows that allow you access to the room behind the locked door. Hop in through the window and take out the Ganado patrolling the hallway.
Now head over to the wall with the crank wheel. As you start to crank the door open on the opposite side of the room containing your gear, you will find that the door begins to slowly close as soon as you stop cranking. You will have to crank it open all the way, then hurry to run around to the other door, back out the way you came, and roll into the room under the slowly closing door in order to collect all of your gear.
As you unlock the door and head out, a mysterious man will appear outside of the main doors and tell you to follow him.
Head out into the courtyard and speak with the man. He is the merchant and can help you to repair your combat knife and even pick up some healing items and new weapons, provided you have the currency available for them.
Once you’re done doing business with the merchant, look to your right to inspect the blue notice posted. This will give you access to a new Side Quest Request.
After you’ve done that, visit the Typewriter and save your game.
Now, head out into the yard and inspect the large locked door.
