All The Resident Evil 4 Remake Easter Eggs
However, despite the bright graphics and the fantastic changes in the gameplay, there are some easter eggs in this remake that many players may not notice. From the weird beast in the water cutscene to the developers’ old video game, here are all the hidden details in Resident Evil 4 Remake!
The Church’s Bell
At the beginning of the game, Leon enters a village and realizes that all the citizens are infected with something. They all attack Leon, and you must defend yourself until the church’s bell rings, and they all move toward it to leave you be.
But did you know that you can finish this fight much sooner? Just go inside the house on the left side of the square, and climb. Here you can see the church. Now if you shoot the bell, the cutscene plays, and the undead will be away from you!
Salazar’s Throne
Ramon Salazar joined Los Iluminados at a very young age. When Saddler approached him as a boy to join the cult, he was gifted the power to transform and become powerful. But did you know there is a Resident Evil 4 Remake easter egg about this boss’ throne?
You can go to Salazar’s throne room and press the interaction button for Leon to sit. Here you will see a cutscene where Leon sits on the throne and enjoys the view. This scene was in the original Resident Evil 4 as well.

The cool part is, after Leon sits and you see the cutscene, there will be a subtitle saying, “There is no time to waste.” This is for the player to stop hanging around and save Ashley instead!
Dog Rescue
You will come across a dog in chapter 3 of RE4 Remake. The poor dog is stuck in a trap, and you can rescue him. If you do so, then this later becomes your buddy!
There’s a boss fight ahead as you proceed through the mission, and this dog will come around to help you. This detail was not included in the original game.
The Lake Beast
In chapter 4 of the game, you will pass a lake on your way. Now the old Resident Evil 4 fans will definitely try shooting the water for a secret cutscene, and yes! This jump scare is in the remake as well!
If you stand and shoot the lake, a beast emerges, and you suddenly face the “You are dead” screen. This Resident Evil 4 Remake easter egg is among the oldest one’s that some players have discovered in the original RE4.
Leon’s Knife
Do you remember Lt. Marvin Branagh from Resident Evil 2? He was also in the remake of this game, giving Leon a combat knife. Now as a Resident Evil 4 Remake easter egg, Leon’s starting knife is precisely the one Branagh gave him nearly six years ago!
You can even read the description for this melee weapon as it references Leon’s time in Raccoon City Police Department. Marvin Branagh dies in the RE2, but it seems like Leon is going to remember him forever.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Easter Eggs: Master of Unlocking
In Resident Evil 1, Jill Valentine is the main character. In this game, Barry gives a lockpicking tool to Jill and calls her a “master of unlocking.” This dialogue is referenced in Resident Evil 4 Remake as an easter egg.
Ashley Graham says this line when Leon sends her to unlock a door from the other side. Ashley isn’t a fighter, nor she has the skills of Jill in combat, but she unlocks the door for you anyways!
Kendo Gun Shop
During the events of Resident Evil 2, Robert Kendo runs a gun shop in Raccoon City. He’s attacked by zombies and drops dead in the end, but it looks like Leon has bought a pistol from him.
Leon’s staring pistol in Resident Evil 4 Remake has an easter egg referencing Kendo. If you examine this gun, a “Kendo” is written on its barrel. This detail was not in the original RE4.
The Merchant’s Music
If you are an OG player, you probably know the original soundtracks of the old games. In particular, the saving screen for Resident Evil 4. In the remake, if you wait beside the Merchant for a while, there’s a chance that he hums the original RE4 save-screen soundtrack.
The Speed Charm
There was a shotgun in the original RE4 called the Striker. This shotgun has a huge drum magazine size, but the benefit was not the power or its ammo capacity. In fact, there was a way you could move faster than usual with it, and speed runners used it to finish the game quicker.
Now as a Resident Evil 4 Remake easter egg, there’s a nod to this advantage. If you buy and see the speed charm in Resident Evil 4 Remake, you will see that the charm looks like the Striker shotgun.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Easter Eggs: The Mafia Reload
The Pinstripe suit is a Mafia-looking outfit you can unlock in Resident Evil 4 and the Remake. Now while you use this outfit for Leon to wear, there is a secret dance that you can unlock.
Equip the Chicago Sweeper, and reload four times while aiming. Then you will see Leon doing a Mafia-style dance you have never seen before! This dance had a different look from the original RE4.
And there you have it! These are the most important and hidden details of the Resident Evil 4 Remake. This game is currently available for PlayStations 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
