At this year’s Tokyo Game Show, Capcom released a new gameplay trailer for the upcoming Resident Evil 7: Biohazard DLC entitled “Not a Hero“. Series veteran Chris Redfield is back, and in the nearly three-minute trailer he is taking names as usual. “Not a Hero” picks up after the main events of Resident Evil 7 as Chris tries to clean up the mess left behind by Ethan Winters and the infamous Baker family. Although the trailer is short, it looks like Capcom has placed an emphasis on action, even more so than in the base game.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard was departure from the typical enemies that have been found throughout series’ history, as the focus was more on people than zombies or other mindless enemies. The upcoming DLC, however, is bringing back the familiarity of those old enemies, and is also keeping with the first-person gameplay that was introduced in Biohazard. It will be interesting to see how Capcom ties up loose ends from the campaign and explains Chris Redfield’s sudden appearance. Those who finished Biohazard will recall when Chris showed up at the end of the game in a helicopter that bore the Umbrella Corporation logo- only the colors were blue and white, instead of Umbrella’s classic red and white.
“Not a Hero” was originally announced on the heels of Resident Evil 7‘s January release, and it was expected to have a Spring release. When the DLC was delayed, however, we didn’t hear much about it until recently. “Not a Hero” will be available on December 12, 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and those who already own Resident Evil 7: Biohazard will be able to play it for free. That same day, Capcom is releasing another DLC entitled, “End of Zoe”, which will wrap up the story of the youngest Baker daughter. That add-on is a part of the Resident Evil 7 season pass and can be purchased for $14.99.
